This year, Cumberland Falls had a far lower water level than typical. So we made the 2hr journey completely on impulse. Had we planned this trip and left earlier, we'd been able to see more of the beautiful color. Last time were were there in the fall, it wasn't nearly as beautiful. The trees were an explosion of vivid color and the Cumberland River was low enough below the falls for a much overdue family portrait. I'm so thankful for the invention of tripods.
