Female Garden Spider - Argiope Aurantia

Garden Spider guarding her egg sac. These calm spiders are beneficial and harmless. They can bite if threatened, but it is non-poisonous, but can be an unpleasant pinch. Their web is commonly seen with a 'w' pattern repeatedly sewn into it. They will shake their web if threated, but otherwise are very calm and willing subjects to study and photograph.
