Soul Gaze Photography is open, but limiting travel for obvious reasons. If you can safely get to me, 11mi East of Glasgow, I'd be glad to provide you with creative snow sessions. Regular session and service availability will resume after highways are returned to safe travels. Snow sessions available for as long as snow exists. Online services are still available. See website for more details.
It was quite cold this morning. A layer of fluffy snow, 8 inches deep, coated the landscape. Golden sunlight sparkled on the surface as fog rose to greet the light. Frost instantly froze my breath on the storm door's glassy surface. The temperature was -1. I donned layers and proceeded to photographically document this rare snow depth not seen since my early childhood.
Though the word frigid is lacking the ability to adequately describe this windy morning, the snow is so gorgeous. If only it could magically stay off of roads! Another 1-2 inches added to the 8 inches we already had. Today it is blowing with a vengeance as temps quickly descend to single digits. Tonight will possibly feature temperatures as low as a double digit negative. I'll probably be wearing my fuzzy snow gear indoors! Stay warm everyone!
The warm glow of a kerosene heater is an appreciated source of extra heat. I've not used one before nor been near one since I was a child. I'd forgotten how warm they are (if you can endure the odor). It enabled us to lower the thermostat from 64 to 55 and still remain comfortable in layers. If this cold doesn't soon go away, I fear our electric bill will be disturbingly high.
